Choc arrière (Coup du lapin) Le coup du lapin est fréquent en cas de choc arrière. Bien que les mécanismes engendrant ces lésions ne soient pas totalement compris, l’on sait que la conception du siège et de l’appuie-tête joue un rôle dans le risque de blessures. Euro NCAP évalue la géométrie de l’appuie-tête par rapport à la tête et teste les sièges sur trois degrés d’impact (élevé, moyen, faible) à l’aide d’un mannequin spécialement conçu pour les chocs arrière. Il est fort probable que les sièges du haut du tableau offriront une meilleure protection que ceux du bas du tableau. Exemples de sièges évalués comme étant bons, moyens et mauvais.
